TESTING armani luminous silk concealer

Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the new Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Concealer.

Luminous Silk is a cult favorite product, and if you read previous blog post you know that my experience was a bit mixed… because at the beginning I did not like it ( probably due to some reaction to my skin care at the time or bad skin condition..) but later on I started to really enjoy it.

So, when I learned that Armani was releasing the Luminous Silk Concealer, said to be perfect for dry skin areas I really wanted to try it too.

DETAILS:

COST

The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Concealer price varies from 40.90 Euros ( on the sephora website) to 33,00 Euros on the (Armani website) for 12ml. So first, this concealer is pretty pricey, but you do get 12ml which is more than the usual amount for other concealers.

PACKAGING

The Armani Luminous Silk Concealer comes in a plastic frosted bottle, with a plastic cap and doe foot applicator. The doe foot is asymmetrical, with a pointy tip for precise application and the flat side for larger application. I haven’t noticed it making much of a difference, if I’m honest. Overall I think it looks very sleek and pretty.

SHADE RANGE

The Armani Luminous Silk Concealer comes in 20 shades. However, I found it really difficult to understand what shade to choose to be honest…. and unfortunately I think I chose wrong ☹️ cause this as you can see on the back of my hand definitely looks a bit too light for me.. The color I got is n°5.

I have meI have medium olive skin tone and it’s always challenging and confusing deciding on a good match but with this concealer I really t was a real challenge to understand based of the swatches on the web site 🤦🏻‍♀️

CLAIMS

  • Luminous finish
  • Infused with caffeine, vitamin E and glycerine to improve the look of dark circles
  • Long lasting hydration
  • Lightweight texture
  • Longwearing
  • For all skin types
  • Medium coverage

COVERAGE

I find that this product works best with small brushes or gently tapped with fingers. The sponge application was a “no no for me” cause it drank up all the concealer.

I have very dry under eyes but the product felt very comfortable and highlighting, the effect was very natural, very skinlike and that I enjoyed a lot. However, the coverage was not the very best for me at least but it might be cause I have dark circles a and a bone structure that does not help there, plus the light shade made this more difficult.

But the best thing about this product is that is very easy to blend, very lightweight and does a good job if layered. Even if is not a super long wearing is very forgiving on the under eye and it does not leave you at the end of the day looking patchy or creased.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I like it but not as much as I hoped for, maybe is the wrong color that if not color corrected gives a bit of a “greysh” look to my under eyes, or maybe it was the fact that if your dark circles are really intense like mine this might not be the best choice.

On the other hand the finish of this concealer on skin is really beautiful! It looks radiant, but healthy. I love the fact it did not crease and make my under eye dry. Also with a bit of patience and a bit of help from my corrector I was able to make it work regardless the light shade.

So if you have a bit of money to spend….or you like a natural finish and your dark circles are not super intense this could work well for you.

Let me know what do you think, Have you tried this concealer? If yes, do you have some color suggestion that would match better my olive skin, or color corrector option that work well with this?

I might try another color who knows 😊… maybe something I can mix with this

Love,

J.
