Home, such a small and equally strong word! We have songs, poems, even movies trying to recreate this tiny little word, or is it more of a feeling and state of mind? I guess it depends… but without going into very deep and melodramatic stuff (excuse me but at night I get a bit carried away with my thoughts…and here is almost midnight).
But well let’s start simple, for example from the geographical point of view… beginning from the city, I come from and I live in.
I’ll do a bunch of post about it, about it’s legends, it’s story ( that’s a lot of writing … but I’ll give it a shot!), it’s popular events and a couple of tips on what a like. But let’s start with presentation first!
It’s small, sometimes silly boring but I believe also underestimated by half of it’s habitants. Not really a news, I guess this happens a lot, probably for most places … cause it’s not the location that’s small a boring… but our routine…. well at least some parts of it are…
Anyway, I have worked for the town tourism office for three years ( ..yes “Welcome ” was kind of my second name back than..) and I remember meeting so many people coming to visit from all around the world France, Uk, Australia, Usa, India, Russia, Netherlands even South Africa…
All of these people, culture, minds that came here drawn by the tales of a city quoted by Shakespeare himself just as a shadow of the more popular Verona yes, but equally worthy to be mention as part of the world most loved tragedy.
Sometimes reflection of powerful political women in ancient history, and place of inspirations for all Artist especially during Renaissance. Well, later on famous for music as well as set of another beloved tragedy the opera by G. Verdi, “Rigoletto”.
But also nevertheless for those passionate about poetry as it is the birth place of the famous latin poet Virgilio.
Did you already guess? Good than … I shall say it again.. “Welcome to MANTOVA”
bellissima foto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
