Rain Africa, NY

Hello everyone
today I just wanted to share with you a little shop that I really like in Ny … If any of you are lucky to go there soon, or just curios…
Well after a traditional visit to the charming Rockefeller Centre, just around the corner between 5th & 6th Avenue is one of the loveliest shop I have ever been… it could get a little lost between the gigantic buildings but if you look with a curios eye you will sure see it.
I am talking about RAIN, yep that’s the name… I have been only in the NY one but I know that they have a few of these little boutiques also in South Africa… although yes it’s the only shop in the US, so their products are pretty unique. What they sell? Well they creates handmade bath and body products as well as hand crafted home ware with attention to detail using natural ingredients with African origins.
These stuff are solo AMAZING… REAL GOODIES FOR THE SKIN!!! yes because their products include extracts and oils from Kalahari melons, Mongongo nuts, Marula fruit, Mafura seeds, the pods of Baobab and fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom, all packed with antioxidants, moisturizers and nutrients to protect and replenish your skin.

So as I said they are very unique… but there is more, in my opinion the most valuable part because these products do not involve any animal testing or child labour and the girl from the shop explained to me that the reason Rain came into existence was to provide jobs, skills and hope to people living in desperate poverty, particularly women and the disabled.
Their products and packaging are hand-made by trained crafters because by doing this they support small local suppliers and producers. All the wild ingredients are hand-harvested by women living in remote areas of Southern Africa where economic opportunities are almost non-existent.

And let me tell you their packages are piece of art.. lovely, unique and so AMAZING!
I brought 2 SAVANNAH ( body cream … thank god i got two of these… cause I’ve been using like crazy), one bottle of jasmine essential oil ( silence … there are no words for this stuff.. you have to try it..) and a gift box of artisans soap ( which by the way everyone in my family kidnaped from me… they were that good!)
